Brenda de Vries had been a photographer for over twenty years, starting with analog methods before embracing digital photography. After taking thousands of client images, she felt disconnected from her work. In March 2023, discovering AI image generators reignited her passion and led her to experiment with unique and artistic dog portraits. Irfan Fiets, meanwhile, had been searching for purpose amid the fast-paced life of Amsterdam. After ten years in marketing, he felt stuck until a captivating dog portrait inspired him to seek change. His bond with his own dog, Ellie, a wire-haired sausage dog, deepened his love for canines and sparked the idea for GoDandy.
